About Us
Festival History
Nansledan Arts Festival is a festival organised by the community, for the community.

It was conceived in March 2024 by a few book-group friends with the ambition to build stronger community relationships and make life a little more joyous through creative, artistic pursuits that are accessible to all residents in Nansledan. We also want to showcase to the community the incredible talent and creativity at its heart. The first festival was run over a weekend in September 2024.

Our Mission, Vision and Values
Our mission is to initiate and support a series of arts-based events and projects offering a diverse range of experiences in which all members of the Nansledan community and the surrounding area can participate. We aim to give people a sense of pride in their neighbourhood, build belonging, and promote well-being through the power of the arts.
Our vision is to:
1. Bring opportunities for joyful connection through the arts to residents of Nansledan and the surrounding towns and villages,
2. Be a platform for local developing artists,
3. Share pride in the things that make Nansledan special, and
4. Be accessible to all local people.
Our values are:
  • Friendship: Fostering connections and relationships within the community
  • Compassion: Promoting empathy and understanding among all participants
  • Understanding: Encouraging open-mindedness and appreciation for diverse perspectives
  • Inclusivity: Ensuring that all community members feel welcome and included
  • Community Development: Contributing to the growth and enrichment of Nansledan
  • Fun: Creating enjoyable and memorable experiences for everyone
  • Joy: Spreading happiness and positivity through artistic expression
  • Learning: Providing opportunities for personal and communal growth through the arts.

The festival relies solely on local fundraising through event sales and sponsorship to keep it self-sustaining on a minimal budget.

We therefore would like to say a big thank you to our community and local businesses and organisations for their generous and ongoing support.

In particular we would like to thank our Founder Sponsors: CG Fry & Son and Morrish Homes, the Duchy of Cornwall and Nansledan Primary School for allowing us to use their premises.

We are also extremely grateful to all the local arts and voluntary organisations who have given us much advice, encouragement and support.
